Mitch Stephen has been honing his songwriting skills for five decades. In the '70s, he was inspired by singer-songwriters like Dan Fogelberg and Jackson Browne, igniting a lifelong passion for creating music.

A former drummer, Mitch does not play a melodic instrument, nor does he perform his own songs in public. He creates music by snapping his fingers and singing in his simple a cappella voice, allowing the lyrics and melodies to arrive simultaneously. After creating an a cappella recording of his song, he collaborates with a professional pianist or guitarist to find the chords that resonate in his mind. This process marks the beginning of the song's final production.
